our story

Hi! We’re Jacob & Macee Denning, founders of Legacy Athletics Academy.

We wanted to share a little about how this dream became a reality!

Jake has spent nearly a decade volunteer coaching in our community, turning his passion into a purpose. He’s had the privilege of coaching and teaching basketball classes for Southeast Idaho Hoops Academy, an incredible program built on strong philosophy, curriculum, and direction. Additionally, he has also coached with national sports leagues as a head coach for Breakthrough Basketball, NFL Friday Night Flag, and Idaho’s Special Olympics.

Macee has shared a love of sports on and off the courts, tracks & fields as an athlete, coach and crowd supporter. She has a passion for expanding opportunities for the youth & promoting/creating more inclusive opportunities for special needs individuals.

Over the years, our combined knowledge and expertise have grown as we’ve learned how to develop not just great athletes, but also be a small contributing factor in helping develop great people.

At Legacy Athletics Academy, our goal is to bring that same focus, passion, and love for sports to kids of all abilities across a variety of sports—teaching skills, fundamentals, inclusivity, and sportsmanship.
